Welcome drinks

Included with your entry, from our friends at Durty Brewing enjoy a low-alcohol pale ale 0.5%

Durty Brewing has been inspired by the wonderful landscape of the Scottish Borders – and in particular the famous trails of the Tweed Valley.

In fact, each of their beers has been named after one of the majestic trails.

An easy-drinking, hoppy pale ale that cuts out the alcohol without sacrificing the flavour.  Double dry-hopped with Comet hops from the US to provide grass and grapefruit aromas, with a smooth body that is well balanced by a gentle bitterness.

Vegan and gluten free.

Carl’s Lane is brewed with the following:
Malts – Pale, Wheat, Vienna
Hops – Comet
Misc – Maltodextrin

Inspired by the rides and runs of the Tweed Valley.

Runners table

As with all Backyard Ultras, part of the challenge of this quirky race is figuring out your fuelling. We appreciate that all our runners will have their tried-and-tested systems and know what doesn't work for them.

Included with your entry, we will provide a well-stocked snack and drinks table for runners, with water and squash available at all times. Other goodies on the table:

  • Bananas

  • Water Melon

  • Flapjacks

  • Energy bars

  • Crisps

  • Wine gums

  • Coke (flat)

We will have tables and bench seats, under cover and near the start and finish coral, an area to relax and re-fuel between laps*

On Saturday night, we’ll have a campfire, hot chocolate and a few marsh mallows for supporters and runners to enjoy. We’ll also have limited boiling water available for hot drinks.

*the re-fueling area is for runners consumption only. Runners, please do not set up a temporary bag drop, clothes change, chairs or other personal items in this shared area. Please keep this to the camping area for the benefit of everyone. Thanks.

Whilst we have taken steps to minimise the risk of cross-contamination, please be advised that food on our fuel table may contain the following ingredients: milk, egg, wheat, soy, fish, tree nuts, peanuts, mustard, or sesame. We recognise the seriousness of food allergies but cannot assume any liability for adverse reactions.

However, we are keen to reduce traffic exiting the campsite as much as possible to avoid putting our runners at risk.
